Can I bring my own phone to Sprint?

When you bring your phone to Sprint, you’ll need to replace your existing SIM card with a Sprint SIM card so that our network can identify you as a customer.

Can I put my Sprint SIM card in an unlocked phone?

A domestic SIM unlock allows you to insert a Sprint SIM card into your device and attempt to activate it on the Sprint network. Unlocking your device will not necessarily make it interoperable with the Sprint network.

Can I just switch SIM cards between Sprint phones?

SIM cards are only used for access to LTE and are not freely swapable between devices like they are on most other carriers in the world. In order to swap SIMs, you have to call Sprint customer service and have them pair your new device’s IMEI to the old SIM number.

How do I swap phones on Sprint?

To activate your phone online:

1. Sign in to My Sprint with a valid username and password.
2. In the My Account area, scroll down to the About my devices section and find the phone you would like to swap out.
3. Select Activate a new phone from the drop down menu located to the right of the phone (shows Manage this device)
