How do I get a Lancashire library card?
You can join at any age and it’s free! Charges may apply on overdue items, reservations and audio-visual material hire. We will process your application and email your library membership number and PIN (Personal Identification Number) to you. Membership cards will be posted to you.
How do I join Lancaster Library?
It’s free to join and there are no age restrictions. If you don’t have a Lancashire library account, you can apply to join a library online or at your local library. Your library account will automatically expire every three years and will need renewing for you to continue to use our services.
How many books can you check out at a public library UK?
How many items can I borrow? Adults can borrow up to 20 books, 10 DVDs and 10 CDs. Under-18s can borrow up to 20 books and 10 CDs.

We are delighted to announce that, from Monday 19th July 2021 everybody is welcome to visit the Library, and our doors are open to the public and visitors. You can visit the library to consult items in the building.

How do you dress for a library?
You can wear almost any kind of somewhat nice-looking top so long as you have a more conservative cardigan or blazer to go with it. Most libraries blast the air conditioning, and this is why I stand strong by the cardigan (or having an extra sweater or blazer around).
