Can you make jewelry from salt dough?
It is not just a kids craft material and to demonstrate that we wanted to share with you our heart-shaped salt dough jewellery which is the perfect craft for preschoolers through to teens. We used our go to salt dough recipe and the salt dough jewellery was made with half the recipe.
How do you make dough glue?
Directions:
- Mix 1/2 cup white school glue together with 1/4 cup cornstarch in a bowl.
- Stir in 3/4 cups of warm water.
- Add a few drops of food coloring until you get your desired color.
- Allow the mixture to sit for 5 minutes.
- Transfer the mixture to a pan.
- Transfer the dough to a mat or freezer paper.
Can you make beads from dough?
STEP 1: Mix flour, salt, and warm water into a soft dough. STEP 2: Shape the dough to form the beads. STEP 3: Use your straw to make holes in each bead. STEP 4: Cook the beads for 10 min in a 200 degree oven on wax paper.

To make a shell necklace, start by using a drill, or a hammer and nail to put a hole in each shell you want to string. Then, use pliers to attach a jump ring to each shell, so they’ll hang properly. Next, string your center shell before you add any beads, charms, or other shells you want on either side.
Can you bake playdough to make jewelry?
Roll the playdough into small balls. Use the wooden skewer to gently pierce each ball all the way through. Slightly wiggle the skewer around to make the hole wide enough to easily thread with string later. Put the balls onto an oven tray and place in the oven on low heat for around 30 minutes.

Steps
- Mix the flour and salt.
- Add water and mix well.
- Knead the “dough” that you’ve created for 10 – 15 minutes.
- Shape the beads.
- Make a hole in the bead.
- Bake the beads in an oven at 250ºF/120ºC for 2 – 3 hours.
- Remove from oven and allow to cool on a rack.
- Paint your beads.
