Diquafosol ophthalmic solution 3 % (Diquas(®)) is a P2Y2 receptor agonist that promotes tear fluid and mucin secretion and is currently approved in Japan and South Korea for the treatment of dry eye.
What is Diquafosol sodium?
Diquafosol sodium stimulated water and mucin secretion by acting on P2Y2 receptors on the conjunctival epithelial and goblet cell membrane and elevating intracellular calcium ion concentrations.
What is Hialid used for?
Hialid is indicated for the treatment of dry eyes or severe keratoconjunctival epithelial injury associated with the following disease or causes: Endogenous diseases such as Sjogren’s syndrome, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, dry eye syndrome, and other diseases.
